Training Plane Crash Injures 2 in Maharashtra, India

NEW DELHI: A training plane crash in the western Indian state of Maharashtra left a trainee pilot and an instructor injured on Sunday, according to local police. The incident occurred near Gojubavi village in the Pune district, approximately 245 km southeast of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra.

The aircraft, affiliated with the Redbird Flight Training Academy, met with the accident during a training session. Both the trainee pilot and the instructor sustained injuries in the crash. They were transported to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel described their conditions as stable. This marks the second incident involving the Redbird Flight Training Academy within a short span.

Training Plane Crash Incidents in India

Just days before this incident, on Thursday, another training aircraft from the same academy had crashed near Katfal village in Pune during a similar training session. In that incident, the pilot and co-pilot were injured.

India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken swift action in response to the recent accidents. The aviation regulatory body has initiated an investigation into the crash to determine the cause of the incidents and prevent future occurrences.
