Transformative Trends in Banking Industry Highlighted

KARACHI: Banking leaders, experts, and decision-makers highlighted the transformative trends in the banking sector, including embedded finance, customer experience, digital transformation, banking as a service (BaaS), Cloud, and security in the 12th edition of the Bank of Future Forum 2023.

The forum was co-hosted by Systems Limited and Temenos at a local hotel in Karachi.

Over twenty-five esteemed global speakers representing decision-makers, regulators, fintech experts, banking leaders, and media representatives attended the event.

With this year’s theme, Cloud Banking, the forum featured immersive demonstrations and the latest technologies showcased by global sponsors, including Salesforce, HID Global, Nevis Security, Red Hat, Formpipe, Validata, and Hysab Kytab. Systems Limited also showcased its groundbreaking solutions and services, such as banking in the Metaverse, digital wallet, loan origination, and customer onboarding, to name a few.

In his opening remarks, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and managing director of Systems Limited Asif Peer, welcomed the audience and shared insights into strategic trends and underlined the longstanding partnership of Systems and Temenos, as well as their shared vision for next-generation banking.

He underlined upcoming Cloud models and Temenos’ vital role in modernizing the global banking industry through its Cloud-driven solutions.

An exciting fireside chat featured Muhammad Aurangzeb, CEO and president of Habib Bank Limited, and Arif Ul Islam, deputy CEO of Meezan Bank. The two banking leaders shared invaluable insights on how to drive superior customer experiences in the banking sector by stressing the importance of customer-centricity, operationalizing it, and leveraging technology to deliver consistent customer experiences.

The highlight of the forum was the thought-provoking panel discussion, “Navigating Cloud Banking: Insights from Leading Industry Experts”, which welcomed CIOs from leading banks, including Standard Chartered Bank, United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, and ASA International. They engaged in discussions on Cloud adoption, talent development, technology challenges in Pakistan, and capacity-building.
