WASHINGTON: Former US president Donald Trump has alleged that his Democratic successor has militarized the American justice system against him, comparing Biden’s tactics to Hitler’s Gestapo.
American media on Sunday reported that the Republican 2024 presidential candidate made the remarks during a private meeting with top leaders of the party and wealthy donors in Florida.
According to a recording provided to US media by one donor Trump in a 90-minute speech, accused Democrats of running a Gestapo administration.
The “Gestapo” remarks came as the election campaign has started heating up, and it follows several other Trump comments that critics have described are inflammatory. Earlier Trump compared immigrants to “animals” and called political rivals “vermin”.
According to Politico, Trump’s comments in his Mar-a-Lago residence brought applause from the audience.
He again slammed the prosecutors who have filed four separate court cases against him, including the hush-money trial in New York.

Trump has always accused the Democratic administration of eliminating him through a witch hunt.
The White House, which has dismissed any involvement in the legal cases, condemned Trump’s comments on Sunday.
Spokesman Andrew Bates said instead of echoing the appalling rhetoric of fascists, President Biden is trying to bring the American people together around their shared democratic values and the rule of law.
Biden’s campaign while responding said the party already knew Trump’s campaign is about him and his fury, his revenge, and his lies.
