MICHIGAN: Former President Donald Trump criticized the $355 million fine imposed on him in his fraud case, expressing concern that businesses would flee New York state in response to the ruling.

Speaking at a rally in Waterford Township, Michigan, Trump denounced Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron’s decision, which held him accountable for inflating his net worth to secure favorable bank loans.

Trump vehemently maintained his innocence, asserting that the case lacked any evidence of victims, damages, or defaults.

He portrayed the lawsuit, initiated by New York Attorney General Letitia James, as a Democratic ploy to undermine his presidency. Trump accused the legal system of persecution and warned of detrimental consequences, including job losses and business departures from New York.

He urged Congress to impeach President Joe Biden to curb what he perceived as the “weaponization” of the Department of Justice.
