WASHINGTON, United States: As the results of the 15 super states for the Republican presidential nomination began to come in on Tuesday, American networks predicted that Donald Trump would win the primaries of Virginia and North Carolina.

The former president, who is seeking a sensational comeback after losing his seat to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020, is expected to win the nomination in all states on Tuesday.

As states continue to be counted across the country, President Trump took to his Truth Social website to thank Virginia and North Carolina.

The most likely challenger, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, failed to put a significant dent in Trump’s path to the nomination, but she refused to drop out of the race.

According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Trump, 77, has a 65-point lead in the primary and two points ahead of President Joe Biden in a head-to-head race in November.
