Turkmenistan Ambassador, CM Punjab Discuss Mutual Trade Expansion

LAHORE: Turkmenistan Ambassador to Pakistan Atadjan Nurlyevich Movlamov on Wednesday called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and discussed bilateral trade relations.
During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz and the ambassador discussed means of enhancing cooperation between Punjab and Turkmenistan to boost trade and investment. Maryam Nawaz said that Turkmenistan, as a brotherly country to Pakistan, could benefit from Punjab’s lucrative investment prospects in energy, industry, livestock, and agriculture.
The Punjab CM highlighted the potential for increased trade in the textile, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and livestock sectors. She also discussed various proposals to strengthen bilateral relations between Punjab and Turkmenistan, both at governmental and grassroots levels.
In response, Ambassador Movlamov congratulated Maryam Nawaz on being elected as the first female Chief Minister of Punjab. He commended her vision for fostering bilateral trade and investment relations.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and other relevant officials were also present at the meeting.
