WASHINGTON: The new owner of the social media platform Twitter, Elon Musk has asked users whether the previously suspended accounts should be reinstated under a “general amnesty”.

The CEO while seeking the users’ opinion in a poll, asked whether those accounts should be reinstated that have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam.

Over 207,000 Twitter users cast their votes in the poll. 74 percent of the respondents agreed Elon Musk should move forward to reinstate these suspended accounts.

The CEO has already reinstated several accounts of prominent figures, including former US president Donald Trump, Kanye West, and Congresswoman Marjorie Greene. –APP/AA
