ISLAMABAD: Elon Musk, Twitter’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has announced that the microblogging platform is witnessing an “all-time” high influx of users.

The CEO tweeted that 1.6 million users had been added to the social media service this past week.

The statement comes amid human resource woes as the firm struggles with employee retention. The billionaire CEO had recently announced an “extremely hardcore” policy for the workforce. The employees were asked to accept if they wanted to continue working at the firm or quit, and they decided to call it a day.

According to former employees and US media, hundreds of employees had rejected Musk’s orders.

In the aftermath of Musk’s new policy orders, the firm’s headquarters shut down as many key staff resigned, leaving the future of social media service in doubt.

The CEO has drawn criticism for introducing significant changes to the California-based company he recently acquired for $44 billion.
