Two Injured, Shipyard Buildings Damaged in Russian Missile Attack on Ukraine’s Odesa

KYIV, Ukraine: The governor of Ukraine’s Odesa region in the south reported that a Russian missile strike on a ship repair yard on Monday, resulting in two individuals being injured and structural damage.

According to Oleh Kiper, who communicated through the Telegram messaging app, “Russian terrorists launched an early morning attack on the Odesa district using rockets. The adversary specifically targeted a shipyard, resulting in a fire that was promptly extinguished by our rescue teams. The administrative building and the facility’s equipment suffered damage.”

The missile attack followed a series of drone strikes carried out by Russia in southern, central, and northern Ukrainian regions during the previous night. Ukrainian military forces announced via Telegram that their air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed all 12 Russian drones and two missiles aimed at Ukraine.

The military statement noted that all 14 hostile aerial targets were eliminated by our air defense systems, with a focus on areas within Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Dnipro regions. However, no information regarding casualties or the extent of the destruction was provided by military or civilian authorities.

Over recent weeks, Russia has escalated its nighttime drone attacks on Ukraine, launching them primarily from the occupied Crimea region, with a particular focus on the southern and central regions.
