QUETTA: At least three persons including a police cop were killed and 27 others including 22 policemen injured in a suicide bomb blast in the Baleli area of Quetta.
Police Version about bomb blast
Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Quetta Azfar Mahiser told the media that an explosive-laden rickshaw hit a truck of the Frontier Constabulary that was on security duty for polio teams.
The suicide explosion claimed the life of a police cop and two civilians, the police officer said adding that at least three other vehicles were also damaged in the suicide blast.
The police officer said that the injured policemen and injured civilians have been shifted to the Quetta hospital for treatment. The police officer said that 20 to 25 kilograms of explosives were used in the suicide blast.
The police DIG said that they were providing foolproof security to the polio teams. He said that further investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, police said that the body of the suicide bomber was found at a certain distance from the bomb blast site. The identity of the suicide bomber could not be ascertained immediately.
