UAE Minister Emphasizes Electric Vehicles Key to Transitioning to Green Mobility

RIYADH: UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei has said that the government of the emirates was constantly offering incentives to consumers to make EVs more appealing and attractive, adding that the move aimed to shift to green mobility as reaching net-zero emissions has become an urgent and collective priority.

Addressing the second edition of the Electric Vehicles (Evs) Innovation Summit arranged at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the minister said that the EV market looked promising and offered unique investment opportunities to consumers adding that the government of Emirates invites future-thinking businesses to exploit these opportunities. He further said that Investing in the EV industry displayed an ideal environmental and economic sense.

UAE Moving Towards Green Energy

Al Mazrouei said that realizing the potential of electric mobility, UAE has initiated a nationwide network of private and public and charging spots equipped with the latest innovative technologies and arrangments to reduce charging time.

The three-day summit would end on Wednesday, comprising more than 100 products, including vehicles and EV service providers.

Meanwhile, the summit prioritizes promoting and encouraging the transition from dependence on fossil fuels to electric mobility, which would help to counter the negative environmental consequences of carbon dioxide and other emissions on the planet.

The exhibition managed to draw global household brands like Geely, Tesla, Skywell, Polyester, BYD, etc., along with global e-mobility service providers, like charging infrastructure and dealerships.

In addition, over 50 EVs worldwide are on display at the show.

This year’s summit’s special addition was the Technology Park, an innovation spot displaying the latest advancements in e-mobility. This dedicated area displays the cutting-edge EV technologies developed by technology incubators and universities, shaping the future of the industry.
