MOSCOW: Ukraine has launched drones on several Russian areas in hours leading to Wednesday morning, Russian authorities claimed.  Local media reported a fire at the Ryazan oil refinery following the drone attacks.

Pavel Malkov, a local governor said that there were no injuries in the drone strikes in the region. Russian social media channel Baza also reported that the attack sparked a fire at the Ryazan oil refinery.

The refinery, run by Rosneft (ROSN.MM) refines regarding 5.8% of Russia’s total refined crude. It has also been a frequent target for Ukraine’s air strikes. The governors of the Kursk and Voronezh regions in southwest Russia that border Ukraine reported drone strikes on their territories, adding there was no injuries or damages.

Russian officials rarely disclose information regarding the impact of Ukraine’s strikes on its territory and infrastructure.

Authorities in Kyiv said that targeting Russia’s military, energy and transport infrastructure undermines Russia’s war effort.
