RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry expressed satisfaction with the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2720, emphasizing the need for immediate, extensive, and safe delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza.
The resolution also calls for conditions to establish a sustainable ceasefire. Saudi Arabia hopes this step will lead to a comprehensive halt in military operations, safeguarding civilians amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas that started on Oct. 7.
The Ministry reiterates the demand for the international community to address systematic violations by Israeli authorities, condemning actions contrary to international law. As Israel expands its offensive, health officials report over 20,000 Palestinians killed.
