Under-18 Community Girls Volleyball Tournament Empowers Girls Through Sports

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to promote inclusivity and empower young girls through sports, Right To Play organized a two-day under-18 Community Girls Volleyball Tournament at Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The tournament, organized in collaboration with private clubs, the Federal Directorate of Schools, and orphanages, featured 10 teams. These teams, hailing from diverse backgrounds, showcased their talent, determination, and sportsmanship during the competition.

The primary objective of the tournament was to create a safe and encouraging environment for girls to actively participate in sports, breaking barriers and fostering a sense of camaraderie among them. Over the course of two days, these young athletes exhibited exceptional skills. The teams with the highest number of wins advanced to the final match, where they battled for the coveted title.

During the final match, which marked the tournament’s second day, the venue was graced by the presence of esteemed personalities including PSB staff, County Director of Right To Play, Ali Khayam, Mohammad Akram, Secretary of Islamabad Volleyball Federation, and Kristina Afridi, Chairperson of Karim Khan Afridi Welfare Federation. These dignitaries, recognizing the importance of such initiatives, took part in the awards distribution ceremony.

The first position was clinched by Defenders Volleyball Club A, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and exceptional teamwork. In a thrilling face-off, they emerged victorious by defeating the Saba Volleyball Academy B team, showcasing their outstanding talent and determination.

Speaking at the event, Ali Khayam, County Director of Right To Play, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Defenders Volleyball Club A for their remarkable achievement. He expressed his hope that the event had not only been enjoyable for the girls but also served as an inspiration, encouraging them to continue their involvement in sports. He emphasized the importance of breaking societal barriers and empowering girls through initiatives like these.
