UNDP, KP Police Organize Training on Gender-Based Crimes

PESHAWAR: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, organized a five-day training on gender-responsive policing for women and men police officers of the province.

Funded by the European Union (EU), the training was conducted under the “Deliver Justice Project” and collectively implemented by UN WOMEN, UNDP, and UNODC.

The training was aimed to sensitize KP police officers on gender-based crimes and enhance their capacity to efficiently control and respond to violence against gender minorities and women at the community level.

Police Officials from KP Attended the Training

Policemen and policewomen from various districts of KP, including Khyber, Bajaur, Peshawar, Mardam, Kohat, and Kurram, attended the training. The training covered different aspects of gender-based violence (GBV) and the treatment of survivors of GBV.

The training was also focused on how the core policing services (evidence collection, basic investigation, and first response) could be enhanced to meet gender requirements. – APP
