QUETTA: US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome, along with Consul General Karachi Conrard Trrible, on Monday called on Caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki at the CM Secretariat.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Domki said that the mineral-rich Balochistan was the best region for foreign investment.
He said the ongoing US aid projects in Balochistan in peace, women’s economic development, education, and communication sectors would have a lasting impact.
He said that the United States had contributed significantly to the education sector, particularly girls’ education.
US Projects in Balochistan
Likewise, he added, the provision of vehicles and modern equipment to the Balochistan Police would help government efforts in crime prevention, countering terrorism, and investigation processes on modern lines.
The project of providing business opportunities to empower females in Balochistan was also of extraordinary significance for the development of women, he said.
The CM said that long-lasting diplomatic and bilateral ties are established between Pakistan and the US, urging the need for increasing the volume of trade between the two nations.
Ambassador Blome, on the occasion, said the ties between Pakistan and the United States based on mutual respect were moving in a better direction.
Blome said that he has always found the people of Balochistan sincere and hospitable whenever he visited the province.
The ambassador said that currently, Balochistan was represented in two major key positions, i.e., PM House and Senate in Pakistan, which was important for the development of the province.
About the US aid projects in progress, he said that Washington was working on peace and justice projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and sustainable social development is part of its goals.
He added that the United States and global organizations continued their unflinching support during the 2022 floods that hit parts of Balochistan and Sindh.
