US Ambassador Calls on Minister for Petroleum, Discusses Ties with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome called on the newly appointed Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik on Friday.

The ambassador extended his congratulations to the minister on assuming the office and expressed high hopes for the transformation of the energy sector.

Federal Minister appreciated Blome for always extending his support and reaffirmed that together both the nations can achieve the shared energy goals.

During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail the potential areas of cooperation, including investment opportunities, technology transfer, and capacity building initiatives in the energy sector and regional projects.

Ways and means to promote sustainable carbon friendly footprint, green hydrogen, and renewables were also came under discussion.

Pakistan’s commitment towards fostering stronger relations

Dr. Musadik Malik underlined Pakistan’s commitment towards fostering stronger relations with the United States. He apprised the US envoy regarding Pakistan’s vast potential in the energy sector, especially in the minerals sector.

The envoy informed the minster that a high-level economic dialogue is scheduled to be held in April at Washington where energy related issues, including minerals would take the center stage.
