WASHINGTON: In a significant move bolstering international defence ties, the US State Department has officially greenlit the sale of advanced air-to-air missiles to Germany.
The lucrative deal, valued at an estimated $2.9 billion, will see Berlin acquiring a total of 969 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) along with associated equipment.
This groundbreaking agreement was confirmed in a statement released by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, a crucial arm of the Pentagon responsible for handling foreign military sales and transfers.
