US Diplomatic Delegation Meets KP Governor, Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

PESHAWAR: Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy Andrew Shofer along with US Consul General Shante Moore in Peshawar, met with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor’s House on Monday.

During the meeting, the officials congratulated Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on his recent assumption of office and discussed various areas of mutual interest. These included potential collaborations between US development agencies and the provincial government, as well as bilateral cooperation across different sectors.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emphasized the importance of fostering two-way relations and connections between the people of both countries. He underscored the critical role of peace in driving development and prosperity, particularly in regions such as the tribal and southern districts, which have been significantly impacted by terrorism.

Furthermore, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed his commitment to maintaining positive relations with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan.

He acknowledged the longstanding hospitality extended to Afghan refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and throughout Pakistan, while also mentioning the ongoing process of dignified repatriation for illegal Afghan refugees residing in the country.

Deputy Chief of Mission Andrew Shofer highlighted the involvement of American development and aid organizations in the province, aiming to enhance public welfare and well-being through their initiatives.
