Uzbekistan FM to Arrive in Pakistan Tomorrow for Two-day Official Visit

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday for a two-day official visit.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Saidov will call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and hold in-depth discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on a wide range of bilateral matters of mutual interest, with special focus on trade and connectivity, according to a Foreign Office statement.

The visit of the Uzbek foreign minister is likely to provide fresh impetus to the friendly ties between the two countries.

Pakistan-Uzbekistan Bilateral Ties

Uzbekistan is the geographic center of Central Asia. Pakistan enjoys friendly ties with Uzbekistan. The diplomatic relations between the two nations were established on 10 May 1992.

Both countries share religious, historical, and cultural bonds.

Pakistan and Uzbekistan are members of different international forums including the United Nations (UN), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
