ISLAMABAD: A viral image circulating on social media, purporting to show Sahar Ata Bandial, the daughter of Pakistan’s former Chief Justice, Umar Ata Bandial, has been debunked. The image in question does not depict Sahar Bandial but is, in fact, a picture of TV show host Shiffa Yousafzai.

The image was originally posted by a Twitter user with the handle @Drsamina19 on April 2, 2023, along with a misleading caption suggesting that gifts stolen from Toshakhana were found at Justice Bandial’s residence, allegedly given by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan was recently convicted in the Toshakhana case and sentenced to a three-year jail term.

However, a reverse image search confirmed that the woman in the image is Shiffa Yousafzai, not Sahar Bandial. This photograph has been widely used in various media outlets and news stories featuring Yousafzai.

Shiffa Yousafzai herself responded to the misidentification, clarifying that the image belongs to her.

This is not the first instance of misidentification related to Sahar Bandial. The viral image misidentifying Shiffa Yousafzai as Sahar Bandial, the daughter of former Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, has been fact-checked and debunked.
