LAHORE: Due to visa delays, fast bowler Mohammad Amir’s participation in the upcoming T20 matches during the Ireland tour remains uncertain.

While the Pakistan men’s national team has already arrived in Ireland for the series beginning on Friday, Amir is still in Pakistan awaiting visa approval.

He can’t travel with his teammates to Leeds, England, on May 15 for the Twenty20 International series if his visa isn’t approved by Thursday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson mentioned that they are actively collaborating with the Irish Cricket Union to resolve Amir’s visa issues.

Despite all players, including Mohammad Amir, having their visa applications processed promptly prior to the Ireland tour, there was a delay in Amir’s visa approval. As of now, no replacement player has been designated in case Amir is unable to join the national cricket team in Ireland. The finalized squad for the Ireland men’s team is under the captaincy of Paul Stirling, while Pakistan’s squad is led by Babar Azam.

Pakistan’s upcoming schedule includes three T20Is against Ireland, slated for May 10, May 12, and May 14 at Clontarf in Dublin Bay. Following that, they will engage in a four-match T20I series against England, commencing from May 22 at Leeds, with subsequent matches in Birmingham, Cardiff, and The Oval.
