Weather Update: Rain in Islamabad, Peshawar and Snowfall Expected Gilgit and Murree

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast predicting partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with rain-wind thunderstorms and snowfall over hills in several regions of the country over the next twelve hours.

According to the forecast, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Punjab, and northern Balochistan are expected to experience intermittent moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall. Additionally, isolated hailstorms may occur during this period, particularly in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, and Galiyat.

The temperature recorded in major cities on Sunday morning was as follows: Islamabad at twelve degrees centigrade, Lahore at thirteen degrees centigrade, Karachi at twenty-two degrees centigrade, Peshawar and Quetta at eleven degrees centigrade, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad at ten degrees centigrade, and Murree at three degrees centigrade.

Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country, with upper districts experiencing cloudy conditions. A total of 01 mm rain was recorded in Astore. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday were: Skardu at -05°C, Leh and Kalam at -04°C, Gupis at -03°C, and Astore and Bagrote at -02°C.

As Pakistan braces for rain and snowfall in various regions, residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with weather forecasts issued by the PMD to ensure their safety and well-being.
