KARACHI:  West Indies women’s team secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second T20I clash at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Sunday, with captain Hayley Matthews delivering a stellar all-round performance.

Matthews played a key role with both bat and ball, first claiming figures of 3-25 with the ball to restrict Pakistan to 121/7 after they opted to bat first. Muneeba Ali was the standout performer for the hosts, scoring a resilient 55 runs off 47 balls, but lacked significant support from her teammates.

In response, the West Indies chased down the target of 122 runs with ease, reaching the milestone in the 19th over while losing just three wickets. Matthews showcased her batting prowess by notching her 11th T20I half-century, guiding her team to a commanding victory.

Pakistan’s innings got off to a shaky start as opener Sidra Ameen fell early, but Ali steadied the ship with a cautious partnership alongside Gul Feroza. However, the hosts struggled to accelerate the scoring rate, with Matthews and the West Indies bowlers maintaining tight control over proceedings.

Despite Ali’s valiant effort, Pakistan failed to capitalize on partnerships and suffered a middle-order collapse, failing to post a challenging total on the board. Matthews emerged as the standout bowler for the West Indies, ably supported by Chinelle Henry, Karishma Ramharack, and Afy Fletcher, who all contributed with crucial wickets.
