MENLO PARK: WhatsApp has rolled out a series of updates for iPhone users, introducing features that promise to elevate user experience and privacy. The new additions include Pinned messages, a connection health check for video conversations, and a groundbreaking ‘view once’ option for voice messages.

The ‘View Once’ feature for audio messages represents a significant stride in privacy protection. Activating this option ensures that the audio message can only be played once, preventing recipients from sharing, forwarding, copying, saving, or recording the message.

Message pinning, now available in individual chats and group conversations, allows users to control the visibility duration of specific messages. Users can tailor their conversations according to their preferences, with options ranging from 24 hours to 30 days. Furthermore, the flexibility to dismiss a pinned message at any time provides control over the content shared.

WhatsApp Introduces Health Check Feature

In a bid to enhance the video calling experience, WhatsApp has introduced a connection health check feature. During video conversations, users can now long-press their tile to receive real-time feedback on the quality of their connection.

The initial release of these updates has been launched for iPhone users in India, with a broader rollout anticipated in the coming weeks. WhatsApp encourages users to regularly update their applications from the App Store to access these cutting-edge features and improvements.
