ISLAMABAD: As the 2024 general elections approach in just over two weeks, there are reports that educational institutions nationwide might observe an eight-day holiday period in February.

With the official commencement of the election campaign, candidates from various political parties are actively engaged in corner meetings and door-to-door campaigning, gearing up for the elections scheduled on February 8.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has initiated the printing of ballot papers [Form 33], which include the names of candidates and their respective electoral symbols. The printing process is expected to conclude by February 3, following which the ECP, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, will ensure the secure distribution of the ballots to every district.

While rumors circulate on social media, suggesting that educational institutions nationwide will have an eight-day holiday break from February 4 to February 12, there has been no official confirmation from government authorities regarding this matter.

According to the speculative reports, February 4 is a Sunday, February 5 is observed as Kashmir Day, and holidays from February 6 to 10 are expected due to the nationwide vote. February 11 being another Sunday, educational institutions are expected to resume regular activities on February 12 after the speculated eight-day break.
