ISLAMABAD: In a recent announcement, federal authorities have formally approved winter vacations for schools and colleges in the federal capital.
The Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued an official notification, delineating the scheduled winter breaks in Islamabad for educational institutions from December 23 to December 31.
As a cold wave tightens its hold on various parts of the country, including the capital, officials have also revealed revised school timings for both urban and rural areas. The FDE specified that these adjusted timings will remain in effect until January 31, 2024.
As per the directive, schools operating in single shifts will start classes at 8:30 am and conclude at 2:00 pm from Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes wrapping up at 12:30 pm.
For schools exercising double shifts, the morning session will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday to Thursday, and Friday classes will end at 12:30 pm. The evening shift will begin at 1:00 pm and finish at 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes starting at 2:30 pm after Jumma prayer.
This comprehensive approach aims to ensure an organized and adjusted schedule for both students and educational institutions amidst the prevailing winter conditions.
