‘World Food Day’ Celebrated at GCWU Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: In connection with World Food Day, a series of activities under the title “Water is Life, Water is Food, Leave No One Behind” was arranged by the Department of Food Science and Technology, Government College Women University Faisalabad on Monday.

An awareness walk was also arranged, followed by a poster competition and product display.  

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zill-i-Huma Nazli led the walk with Chairperson Department of Food Science and Technology Prof Dr Aysha Sameen, faculty members, dignitaries, and students.

The participants carried placards and banners adorned with messages promoting safe and nutritious food as well as increasing awareness about eradicating hunger.

Chairperson Prof Dr Aysha Sameen shared her insights and highlighted the importance of food security while encouraging the adoption of healthy food practices to overcome the menace of malnutrition.

A poster-making competition was also organized. The participants expressed their imagination through various posters and slogans.

Food Products Exhibition

Separately, numerous food products were exhibited, comprising valuable counterparts of vegetable and fruit processing, innovative bakery items, and enriched beverages.
