Accounts Solely Promoting Other Social Platforms to Be Removed: Twitter

ISLAMABAD: According to a Twitter statement on Sunday accounts whose sole purpose is to only tweet content that promotes other social media will be removed. Those sites that contain links or usernames will also be removed.

A Twitter support tweet elaborated that the step would negatively affect content from social media sites including Truth Social, Tribel, Facebook, Mastodon, Nostr, Instagram, and Post. However, cross-content posting would still be allowed.

Twitter list that mentions social platforms does not include TikTok

The Chinese app TikTok, whose owner is ByteDance Ltd is not part of this list.

A few days ago, Twitter’s voluntary group the Trust and Safety Council was disbanded. The council, since 2016 had been advising Twitter regarding site-related decisions.

Police changes have become frequent, and increasingly chaotic, ever since Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk purchased the social platform.
