ISLAMABAD: Actor, entrepreneur, and now-producer Urwa Hocane spilled the beans not only about the clumsy conditions of the industry but also about back-bitting and leg-pulling inside the industry.
The Tich Bitton producer on Friday shared her views about a video clip followed by remarks against her by an eminent film and television director Nadeem Baig that went viral on social media.
“It is very unfortunate that the formats of shows here are such that each and every
member of the fraternity has to put the other down for the sake of fame and ratings in the garb of fun,” she expressed this in a lengthy note via her Instagram handle.
A few days back, the Meray Pass Tum Ho director, amid a rapid-fire question and answer session, alleged that a cast member during the shooting of the movie ‘Punjab of Nahi Jaongi’ who allegedly threw the most tantrums was not other than Urwa Hocane.
He further said that along with Humayun Saeed, Urwa gave a hard time ahead of dancing scenes.
The video clip got a response on social media, with people criticising Urwa.
However, Urwa responded, saying that now it was the time for her to tell her side of the story.

She wrote that even though she was trolled for her song in the movie, she never threw her director Baig under the bus out of respect for him.
She further said that she must admit some of her faults as when she started working and all through her initial years, she was only wise enough to know that voicing someone’s creative work was what one should do as a team.
Urwa further noted that as she thought life for actors was hard enough by being in the public eye and so vulnerable to unnecessary trolling at all times, how nice would it be if her dear colleagues didn’t play a part in inciting the audience further to target a specific individual?
