MOHALI: Afghanistan allrounder Rashid Khan will miss the three-match T20 series against India as he requires further time to recover from a lower-back injury that needed proper surgery, skipper Ibrahim Zadran told media in Mohali a day before the opening match.
Rashid Khan has also been pulled out of T20 franchise leagues in Australia and South Africa as he got the injury last November.
Zadran said that Rashid was not fully fit. However, he was traveling with the team and also performing his rehab along with regular consultation with the doctor. The skipper further said that being a crucial member of the side, they would miss him in the series.
“Without Rashid Khan, we would struggle due to the absence of an experienced player like him, but this is cricket, and you need to be ready for any kind of situation,” Zadran said.
