AIOU Organizes International Conference on Research and Practices in Education

ISLAMABAD: A two-day seventh International Conference on Research and Practices in Education under the title “Transforming Education: Empowering Learning for Life” organized at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) from February 27 to 28.

Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Dr. Amjad Saqib was the chief guest at the opening session, while Dr. Kiichi Oyasu from Tokyo Healthcare University Japan and Dr. Fatima Rehan Dar from Karachi attended as the keynote speakers of the inaugural session.

A large number of scholars from different universities across the country were present at the session, while foreign scholars joined the session virtually.

Dr. Amjad Saqib said that the universe’s beauty is hidden in knowledge and that knowledge is useless, which does not help us explore the hidden things around us.

He stressed the need to expand the canvas of thinking. He explained in detail the factors and attributes of knowledge, sincerity, practice, and intransigence for research.

Collaboration in Education, Research Emphasized

Dr. Saqib said that making the universe beautiful should be the main focus of our research. He emphasized the need for collaboration in education and research.

Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood said that our aim is to create an educated and skilled society.

He said that 2030 is near, and Pakistan has not yet achieved its sustainable development goals. To achieve these goals, we must underline critical thinking, the spirit of creativity, collaboration, and an inclusive approach in our students.

Talking about climate change, he said that these are major challenges that need to be addressed.

Vice Chancellor announced that with the support of the Akhuwat Foundation, the university will provide free education to the out-of-school children in the surroundings of the Akhuwat food bank.
