Indiscriminate firing of Israeli forces on starving Palestinians led to 112 deaths on 29 February. Those Palestinians who paid the price of collective helplessness with their lives were actually gathered at Southwestern side of Gaza to seek the food for surviving the rigors of inhuman Israeli atrocities.
All the martyred victims were unarmed, unguarded, displaced from native places and physically deteriorated due to prolonged starvation. However, Israel shamelessly declared all the victims a security threat without giving any credible evidence in justification of the cold-blooded massacre. Words have fallen short in describing the depth of humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. A Palestinian mother had lost her those precious twins for which she waited for long 10 years. Besieged residents of Gaza are picking the heaviest coffins of their own kids.
As of today, Israeli forces have killed more than twelve thousand Palestinian kids having zero regret and any iota of shame. There are horrible scenes of dehumanization of Gazans and this ruthless attitude has not only exposed the true inhuman face of Netanyahu regime but also highlighted the double standards of those quarters which are meaningfully refraining from questioning the Israel. Silence on such brutal acts is in a way instigating the Israel for more brutal use of force against the defenseless Palestinians. Before the ruthless targeting of 112 aid seekers, Israel had already killed more than thirty thousand non-combatant Palestinians amid October surprise attacks of Hamas.
Tel Aviv felt no hesitation in targeting the schools, hospitals, mosques and residential areas. Highly unjustified and unproportioned military strikes in the garb of baseless plea of self-defense precisely targeted the unarmed children, women, patients and harmless populace. Brazen Israeli hostilities evidently prove Netanyahu’s preference for annihilation of Palestinians over any form of peaceful resolution of the worsening crisis for which Israeli government is unilaterally responsible. Aid to the victim Palestinians is being blocked by Israeli forces. Besieged residents of Gaza, at the moment, are confronting the worst famine imposed by Israel. Consequently Kids, being weaker and the most vulnerable victim, have started dying due to unbearable starvation.
Only heartless creatures can ignore the shocking images of dying kids who look like a skeleton prior to last due to prolonged starvation and absence of life saving aid. Gradual dismantling of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) seems part of Israeli larger plan to manifest a multi-directional genocide in Gaza. According to Arab League secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, blocking of essential lifesaving aid for Palestinians is equivalent to death sentence and undeniable evidence of collective punishment executed mercilessly by Israel in blatant violation of international laws. Failure of international community in halting the bloodbath in Gaza is more than insensitivity and speaks volumes about prevailing double standards about human rights and moral values.
Mere reliance on ineffective half-hearted verbal statements about ceasefire and absolute inaction on part of UNSC and EU appears as a tacit approval granted to Israel for dehumanization of victim Palestinians. Loud voice and punitive actions like unified sanctions used in condemnation of Russian campaign against Ukraine is nowhere visible as far as Gaza is concerned.
Supplier of weapons and financial aid providers are equally responsible for inhuman genocide of Palestinians in the hands of Netanyahu regime. Lofty claims of US about humanity are weightless in the context of usual unjustified exercise of veto twice in favor of genocidal Israeli regime.
Fact of the matter is that American tax payers’ money is being used blatantly to enable the Israel for ethnic cleansing of unarmed Palestinians. Halfhearted recent talk of President Biden about pre-Ramdan ceasefire deal also vanished promptly and further snatched the thin mask of morality from the ugly face of so-called champions of humanity. In addition to inhuman air strikes, missile attacks and rolling of military tanks against unarmed populace, now, the Gazans are exposed to famine and medical catastrophe enforced upon them by Israel.
Absence of food, medical aid, water and shelter is by no means a retaliatory response of Israel to 7 October raids of Hamas. It is in fact a well thought out genocide and ethnic cleansing campaign manifested with full impunity by Israel with full connivance of those nations which can easily put an end to this inhuman extermination drive. Unchallenged Israeli atrocities In Gaza are bound to trigger deeper ripples in the whole region as evident from growing security turbulence in Red Sea. It is time for US now to introspect the merciless use of veto in support of an oppressor genocidal Israeli regime.
