ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has issued a fervent appeal to the international community, urging concerted efforts to facilitate the just settlement of the longstanding Kashmir dispute in the interest of fostering peace and stability in South Asia.

Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, the spokesman for APHC, conveyed in a statement from Srinagar the pressing concern that the lingering Kashmir conflict poses a severe threat to peace and stability across the entire region. He underscored the urgent need for global intervention to address this longstanding issue.

Minhas lamented the actions of the BJP-led Indian government, accusing it of exacerbating tensions rather than working towards a peaceful resolution. He decried the successive bans imposed on pro-freedom organizations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), labeling it as a deliberate attempt to suppress the legitimate demand of Kashmiris for the right to self-determination.

The spokesman highlighted that the continued banning of political parties in IIOJK is part of India’s relentless campaign to stifle the political aspirations of Kashmiris and persecute their leadership. He called upon the international community to exert pressure on India to abandon its obstinate stance, acknowledge the legitimate demands of the Kashmiri people, and engage constructively in resolving the dispute through peaceful means.

APHC’s plea resonates with the growing urgency for a peaceful and equitable resolution to the Kashmir conflict, emphasizing the need for concerted international efforts to address the grievances of the Kashmiri people and ensure lasting peace in the region.
