Arab League to Organize MIL & Global Understanding Moot on 22-24 April

CAIRO: The Arab League is all set to host the “Media and Information Literacy and Global Understanding: Peace for all” conference in Cairo from April 22 to 24, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

The conference is organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in collaboration with the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance. International experts and representatives of cultural and media organizations will attend the conference.

The conference over three days, will discuss leveraging media and information to bridge the gaps among people, enhance intercultural understanding and foster dialogue.

The conference aims to highlight the significance of media culture in shaping public awareness and directing public opinion towards peace and peaceful coexistence.

The event will focus the role of technology and information in achieving these objectives.

It will also stress the significance of media culture in developing the skills of critical analysis of media content and boosting the ability to tell the difference between real and fake news.
