Blind Cricket Trophy to Begin from April 20

ISLAMABAD: The National Tournament ‘A. S. Ali Blind Cricket Trophy (Season 2023-24)’, set to span from April 20 to 25 in Peshawar, adopts a one-day format to showcase the prowess of visually impaired cricketers nationwide. Organized jointly by the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Department, this event serves as a vibrant celebration of talent and resilience.

Five provincial teams—Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Islamabad—will vie for the championship title, epitomizing their exceptional skills and spirit on the cricketing stage. Guided by seasoned captains, including Nisar Ali for Islamabad, Mohsin Khan for Punjab, Badar Munir for Sindh, Naimat Ullah for Balochistan, and Sanauallah Marwat for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, these teams bring leadership and expertise to the competition.

The tournament commences with two thrilling matches on the inaugural day. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faces Islamabad at the Hayatabad Sports Complex, while Punjab clashes with Sindh at the Peshawar Gymkhana Cricket Ground.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for April 20 at the Hayatabad Sports Complex Cricket Ground, promises a grand inauguration of this prestigious event. PBCC extends heartfelt appreciation to the KP Sports Department and Peshawar Cricket Club of the Blind for their unwavering support, anticipating an exhilarating showcase of cricketing brilliance.
