BRASÍLIA: Doctor Roberto Kalil Filho said on Friday that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was awake and recovering from surgery.
Doctor Roberto Kalil Filho said in a statement, that the surgery went without any medical complication, and the President is awake and recovering. President Lula’s doctor said the operation lasted around an hour, and that President Lula would be able to leave the hospital in a few days.
President Lula has maintained a very busy schedule of foreign visits since taking the President’s office in January. He postponed the surgery as long as he could, acknowledging he did not like the idea of looking weak. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva finally decided to get the hip replacement following acknowledging the pain. He said that he wants to stay in good health as he made a commitment to make the country work.
