China Welcomes Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Upcoming Visit to Beijing

ISLAMABAD: The Chinese Foreign Ministry has welcomed the upcoming official visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to China from May 13-16, highlighting it as a crucial aspect of institutional exchanges between the two nations’ foreign ministries.

Spokesperson Lin Jian stated during a regular press briefing that China is eager to collaborate with Pakistan to leverage Dar’s visit to further advance the crucial consensus reached by the leaders of both countries.

Dar is slated to conduct the fifth round of the Foreign Minister-Level China-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue, having been invited by Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and China’s Foreign Minister, Lin informed.

Lin underscored the enduring strategic partnership and unwavering friendship between China and Pakistan, labeling them as “ironclad” allies. He highlighted the recent trend of close high-level exchanges and collaboration at various levels between the two countries, especially in the face of evolving international and regional dynamics. This collaborative effort has not only deepened mutually beneficial cooperation but has also fortified the longstanding friendship between China and Pakistan.

Following Pakistan’s recent elections, Lin noted that Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman Zhao Leji, promptly conveyed congratulatory messages to Pakistani counterparts, demonstrating China’s sincere felicitations and best wishes.

Lin emphasized China’s commitment to nurturing the traditional friendship with Pakistan, enhancing strategic communication and coordination, and intensifying practical cooperation across various sectors, particularly in advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative.

Moreover, he expressed China’s aspiration to strengthen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan and expedite the development of a more closely knit community of shared destiny between the two nations in the new era.
