RAWALPINDI: The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (Chairman JCSC) of Pakistan, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, on behalf of Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, presided over an Investiture Ceremony at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, where civil awards were conferred upon distinguished scientists and engineers from strategic organizations for their outstanding contributions, stated a military statement released by the Inter Services Republic Relations (ISPR).
A total of 35 scientists and engineers were honored, with 7 receiving the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 15 the President’s Award for Pride of Performance, and 13 the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
Chairman JCSC commended the recipients for their invaluable services, recognizing them as the unsung heroes of the nation.
“Your selfless dedication has played a pivotal role in fortifying the foundations of our resilient nation, for which we are deeply grateful,” the ISPR quoted General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as saying while addressing the award ceremony.
