Courts Grant Interim Bails to Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Two Cases

ISLAMABAD: A District and Sessions Courts of Islamabad granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday in two cases filed against hi at different police stations in the federal capital over May 9 rioting and vandalizing public property.

Additional Districts and Sessions Judge Syed Haroon Ahmed heard the bail of Qureshi against a case filed by the Khanna Police Station. The PTI leader appeared in court with his lawyer, Ali Bokhari.

Qureshi was granted bail till July 4 against a surety bond of Rs10,000, and the police were barred from arresting him until the next hearing.

Similarly, in another FIR registered by the Tarnol Police Station, Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sapra granted Qureshi interim bail until June 19 against a surety bond of Rs10,000. The bail petitions of other co-accused were also set hearing for June 19, according to the court.

Ali Bokhari advocate said that his client has always believed in the supremacy of the law and asked that the court grant his bail. The next hearing in the bail case was then adjourned.
