ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced on Thursday that there would be no extension to the voting time for the general elections 2024.
Addressing concerns regarding a possible extension, the ECP stated that no proposals for prolonging the voting deadline were under consideration.
Emphasizing the set schedule, the ECP reiterated that the voting period would conclude at 5:00 pm local time.
Additionally, the commission clarified that unofficial and unconfirmed election results could be announced starting from 6:00 pm.
This decision underscores the commitment of the ECP to adhere to the established electoral procedures and timelines, ensuring a transparent and timely conclusion to the voting process.
