Election Commission of Pakistan’s Notice to Political Parties

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a press release notifying all political parties that contested the General Election 2024 of their obligations under Section 211 of the Election Act, 2017, read in conjunction with Rule 161 of the Election Rules, 2017.

According to the press release, political parties must submit a list of contributors who donated or contributed one million rupees or more towards their election campaigns. Additionally, details of election expenses incurred by these parties during the General Election 2024 must be furnished in Form 68 within sixty days from the publication of returned candidates’ names in the official gazette.

The deadline for submitting the aforementioned documents to the Election Commission of Pakistan is April 22, 2024.

This notification underscores the transparency and accountability measures required of political parties in relation to their election financing and expenditure, ensuring adherence to electoral laws and regulations in Pakistan.
