Eleven Missing After Eastern France Fire

STRASBOURG, France: Following a fire at a lodging facility for troubled youth in eastern France, authorities stated Wednesday that eleven adults were missing.

Around 6:30 am (0430 GMT), the local fire department informed AFP that they had received a fire report in Wintzenheim. The accommodation was rented by an organization that supports disabled individuals, according to the fire department.

In a statement, the local authorities claimed that the fire was under control but noted that 11 persons were still missing and 17 more had been evacuated. —AFP/APP
