Ethiopia Envoy Invites Sindh Governor to 2nd Trade Delegation

KARACHI: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, has extended an invitation to Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori for the 2nd Business and Trade Delegation to Ethiopia, slated to be held from May 26th to May 31st, 2024 in Addis Ababa.

The Ambassador extended the invitation during a meeting with the Governor of Sindh at the Governor’s House in Karachi. Matters of common interests including bilateral, multilateral, regional and cooperation between the two sides also came under discussion.

Ambassador Jemal Beker briefed the Governor about the activities planned for the 2nd business and trade delegation to Ethiopia including business forums, international manufacturing trade fair, visits to industrial parks and newly developed tourist sites and cultural nights in Addis Ababa.

He informed the Governor about the overwhelming response being received by the 2nd trade delegation from the Pakistani business community.

The diplomat also shared the experiences of the last year trade delegation of Pakistani businessmen to Ethiopia that played an important role in connecting the business community of both countries.

Governor of Sindh during the meeting said he looked forward to visit Ethiopia which enjoyed brotherly and friendly ties with Pakistan.

He praised the economic progress and development achieved by Ethiopia under the leadership of its visionary leader Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

The Governor of Sindh briefed the Ambassador about his Free IT Courses Initiative under which thousands of students were being provided trainings and skills on Artificial Intelligence, Web 3.0 and Metaverse.

Later on, Ambassador Jemal Beker Abdula addressed a large gathering of the students at the IT Facility and lauded the initiative taken by the Governor of Sindh for empowering the youth with modern skills.

He said the modern technologies would help the youth to connect with the global market which would eventually enable them to contribute to strong nation building.

The Ambassador said the Government of Ethiopia is ready to work with the Government of Pakistan for skills, expertise and knowledge sharing for equitable development across the world.
