FBR Falls Short of Tax Target by Rs 44bn in March

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has fallen short of tax collection by Rs 44 billion to Rs 835 billion in March, said the sources on Friday.

They said that the Board could collect only 835 billion tax till March 29 against an IMF-set collection target of Rs 879 billion in the month.

It is to mention here that FBR’s tax target for July to March of FY24 is Rs 6707 billion and Rs 6666 billion have been collected till date.

Banks will open on Saturdays and Sundays to collect taxes likely to catch up the set target.
