KARACHI: Google Cloud has launched its startup competition for Pakistan aiming to explore the nation’s most promising tech projects and empower them to take center stage on the regional innovation sphere.

This inaugural event underscored Google Cloud’s recognition of Pakistan’s enormous talent pool and the booming opportunities within its local startup ecosystem.

Google Cloud’s Startup Competition Pakistan 2024 would help to identify, cultivate and showcase innovative entrepreneurial projects in Pakistan.

Startups from across the country are invited to take part and present their innovative ideas, products, or services to a panel of esteemed judges comprised of industry experts, investors, and seasoned entrepreneurs.

Farhan Qureshi, Country Director, Pakistan, Google on the occasion said that the company is excited to launch Google Cloud’s Startup Competition Pakistan 2024, a country with talent and opportunities.

He added that through this program they aim to empower and support the next generation of Pakistani entrepreneurs who are leveraging Cloud technologies.

The competition will feature five tracks, each aiming on a specific area of innovation including AI & Generative AI, Fintech, Frontier Digital Technologies, E-commerce & Connectivity, and Sustainability & Environment.

Five finalists from each track will be selected on the basis of their performance, team work, strength of the product, and growth potential.

These finalists will then move to the Grand Finals to be held in Karachi in July this year where they will present their ideas and products before a distinguished panel of judges and experts of the industry.
