HEC Announces Scholarships In Rehabilitation Science at University of Dhaka

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has unveiled a significant opportunity for students across SAARC member countries with scholarships and admissions available for the M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Science program at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Funded by the SAARC Development Fund (SDF), this initiative aims to foster academic excellence and collaboration in the field of healthcare and rehabilitation within the region.

Eligible candidates, hailing from SAARC nations, are invited to apply for the eighth batch of the M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Science program. Prospective students must possess a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Medicine, Nursing, Prosthetics & Orthotics, or equivalent health-related disciplines from recognized institutions. Additionally, applicants are required to have completed at least one year of internship training or work experience in a recognized healthcare facility.

Detailed information regarding the application process and necessary documentation can be accessed through the official webpages of the Bangladesh Health Professions Institute (BHPI) and the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), University of Dhaka. Interested candidates are instructed to submit their application forms and academic documents to the Bangladesh missions in their respective countries, following the specified guidelines.

The application deadline is set for April 30, 2024, with admission notifications scheduled for issuance on June 15, 2024. Admitted students are expected to complete their enrollment by July 15, 2024. Moreover, Pakistani students intending to apply are required to obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the Ministry of Interior prior to applying for a Bangladeshi Student Visa, as mandated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Islamabad.

It is important to note that HEC has facilitated the announcement of this scholarship program and holds no financial obligations concerning the initiative. Applicants are encouraged to directly liaise with the relevant authorities for inquiries and clarifications. Additionally, students are advised to ensure the accreditation of their chosen professional degree programs from the respective regulatory bodies before proceeding with their applications.
