ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has revised the ‘HEC Institutional Affiliation Policy-2024’ and notified to all public sector Degree Awarding Institutions regarding key parameters and guidelines for implementing the revised policy.
HEC has developed an online portal (https://edustats.hec.gov.pk/) for the data collection from the affiliating Degree Awarding Institutions for soft desk review and subsequent authorization to proceed.
Revised Policy’s Implementation
The affiliating Degree Awarding Institutions shall ensure the implementation of this policy along with their procedures and policies at their respective affiliated colleges in terms of curriculum, admissions, examination etc, according to APP.
However, the POR data of already affiliated institutions duly verified by the Registrar and countersigned by the Head of the Degree Awarding Institutions needs to be furnished within two weeks at [email protected].
The HEC document further said that the already affiliated colleges and institutes have to be re-evaluated in light of the current policy, and their data shall be uploaded on the aforementioned Portal in six months by the affiliating Degree Awarding Institutions, otherwise, their affiliation would be cancelled.
Hence, the colleges seeking affiliations from the universities within their defined jurisdiction shall follow the rules and regulations of their respective administrative ministry and departments.
The degrees awarded by the non-compliant institutions will not be recognized by the Commission, Accreditation and Attestation Division.
