Hyundai Introduces Electric Vehicle in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Hyundai Pakistan has debuted its inaugural electric vehicle (EV), marking a significant milestone in the nation’s automotive landscape albeit accompanied by a notable price tag. Unveiled at a ceremony in Lahore, Hyundai Pakistan introduced the IONIQ 5, its premier luxury EV model. Positioned within the premium segment, this crossover SUV embodies elegance and sophistication.
In a promotional Facebook post featuring a video, the company declared, “It’s not just a drive – it’s a revolution on wheels, blending style, sustainability, and sheer excitement into every journey!”
Equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a 72.6Kwh lithium-ion battery, delivering an impressive output of 253kw, the IONIQ 5 offers a maximum power of 225kw (301.6hp) and torque of 605Nm. With a range of up to 430 km per charge, it features a single-speed reduction column-type shift-by-wire transmission.
Measuring 4635mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1605mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm and ground clearance of 170mm, the IONIQ 5 embodies spaciousness and agility.
Available in six captivating colors – Atlas White, Abyss Black, Ecotronic Grey, Lucid Blue Pearl, Digital Teal-Green Pearl, and Gravity Gold Matte – this EV caters to diverse aesthetic preferences.
