SRINAGAR: Around 700 more companies of Indian paramilitary forces are set to be deployed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as human rights violations continue in the occupied territory despite international concerns.

In addition to over 1.1 million Indian Army troops, Border Security Force (BSF), and other paramilitary troops, India plans to deploy over 700 additional paramilitary companies in the Kashmir valley, Ladakh, and Jammu region. It is a move in the pretext of smooth conduct of Lok Sabha polls scheduled for April–May this year, according to Kashmir Media Service.

Indian officials said that 635 companies of paramilitary troops will be deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, and 57 will be stationed in the Ladakh region for the Indian Lok Sabha polls, reports said.
